AGI Is Here (And It’s Not What You Think)

1–2 minutes

To read

It has become impossible to track everything happening in the AI industry. The sheer volume of news is as overwhelming as it is exciting. In a jungle of business media chasing every micro-advancement and VCs providing endless “high-level” analysis, I’ve found a refreshingly different newsletter that I had to share.

It is written by a novelist, so it is a genuine pleasure to read. It is written by an ex-technologist, so the insights ring true and plausible. The writing balances profound ideas with detailed arguments, managing to paint both the trees and the forest. It makes you pause, breathe, and continue with a shifted perspective—much like a great book, even though it’s technically a business newsletter.

There are a few unique catches:

  • It is a finite project with a limited number of “chapters.”
  • Once the run is over, it’s done.
  • The author will delete the entire subscriber database after the final installment.

So go and subscribe before it runs out. Yes, this is an ephemeral digital content.

I recommend it because it is, if nothing else, refreshingly human. You can read the first installment here: AGI is here – Robin Sloan

PS: His novels are also fantastic.
